The NAWBO-SB Spirit of Entrepreneurship Awards Dinner is held in conjunction with the Scheinfeld Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Santa Barbara City College. The Scheinfeld Center's New Venture Challenge is a two-tiered business pitch competition for SBCC students and area high school students to promote youth entrepreneurship. The student awards include scholarship and/or cash prizes for the first, second and third place at both the college and high school level and received their prizes at the Awards Event. All the winners attended as guests of the NAWBO-SB Foundation. For more about the student winners, click here.

The Spirit of Entrepreneurship Awards is the main focus of the NAWBO-SB Foundation, a 501(c)3 corporation. The Awards Dinner fulfills the Foundation’s goal of supporting and encouraging entrepreneurship at all levels.

Proceeds from the event, which is hosted by the NAWBO-SB Foundation, will go toward underwriting the following year's award dinner and funding at least two prizes to the Scheinfeld Center for the 2013 event. Special thanks to Montecito Bank & Trust and lynda.com for underwriting student awards for this year’s Spirit of Entrepreneurship Awards where a total of $7,500 of cash prizes were given to the winning students.
